Inter vs Manchester United

So I after a couple of years I got to see United in person again, this time in the rather grand setting of the top of the San Siro in the Champions League. Despite my hopes, and thanks to Julio Cesar in the Inter goal my night at the San Siro on Tuesday was relatively subdued as United didn't get the win they probably deserved in the 1st half.  One of the interesting traditions I noticed in the Inter stands where I was is all the italian fans had bought a united and an inter scarf to the game, so they were wearing the colours of both teams for the duration of the game which I though was nice. Can you imagine the same for Spurs vs Arsenal ? I think not! However was a good game technically, the crowd despite being offically 85,000 was relatively quiet and was interesting to see Milan full of United fans, although the fashions were quite different from via Montenapoleone - see below....

Cinque Terre in February

So this weekend, rather than join the SDA group on the slopes myself and Silvia escaped to Liguria and the coast.  I wanted to see the Cinque Terre which I hadn't seen before, and with 4 month high temperatures of 14 degrees Celsius it sounded like a good time to do it!

Despite the boats not running yet we got to see Monterosso & Riomaggiore minus all the crowds and enjoyed some amazing seafood at Ciak in Monterosso and Bri in Varazze

Puppy

Much like the Obama's one of the things myself and Silvia especially have been talking about for a while is getting a puppy.  In fact Silvia has talked about it for maybe 3 years, and many people saw her struggling to walk down Chestnut St in San Francisco without noticing every single dog or puppy in her way.  So a deal was done, I get to live in Italy, eating and drinking and pretending to work hard on my MBA (which I've been talking about doing for several years) while we get a puppy.  The above puppy codename 'Princess' arrives next week, but has been hand picked for the task in hand and on inspection seems certain to be a high yield investment.
