On the Beach?
Why are Berliners so obsessed with beaches? Could be just its a long way to the coast.
There were loads around for the world cup, but even more this year I've noticed so far in Berlin loads of beach bars, all along the spree, often with cocktails, music plus sand and palm trees!
I've even found a beach bar on a roof of a car park where the latest Toytown expat drinks party was held! Complete with minimalist techno soundtrack and v.strong mojito's.

This post made me laugh, since I live in Australia and right up until lately, didn't own a car either. My housemates have been all in the exact same boat, but we were all too proud to buy a trolley since in our suburban region its considered humorous. But inside the inner-city Melbourne suburbs they are all the rage! Anyway, as somene that has been within your circumstance, I can empathise!
